Biomechanics & Orthotics

Poor foot function and walking gait is a major contributing factor in the development of pain and injury in the feet, ankles, knee, hip – extending into poor posture and subsequent back, neck and shoulder pain.

Biomechanical Assessment - what is involved?

A comprehensive evaluation of the structure, alignment and function of the feet and legs while standing and during walking. The information gained from the biomechanical assessment and gait analysis helps Ann to recommend the most effective treatment for your specific problem.

PRECISION INSOLES / ORTHOTICS

Orthotics sit under your feet and are used to improve foot function, support the foot as the foundation for the body and to redistribute forces through the foot and lower limb. They are not “arch supports”. The use of Orthotics as purely arch supports will lead to a weakening of the muscles of the arch of the foot.
The foot is a piece of precision engineering and requires more expertise than basic arch supports to address biomechanical problems.
